🍑This is a sad year for Paradise Peach Lovers🍑
What happened to those peaches anyway?
The biggest misfortune befell the orchard on December 22nd, when during the wee hours of the morning the temperature plummeted to minus 19 °F. The good news is that the trees themselves held up pretty well. The bad news is the peach fruit blossom buds are only cold tolerant too minus 15 °F, so they didn’t fare so well. We had a few cherries and fewer apricots to harvest this year, but to our chagrin there’s no peaches to harvest.
We will definitely miss all the peachy-ness this year, but now we’re off for some grand adventures…
Wishing you all the best,
Lynn and Tom McCamant
